University Information Day also took place at Zgorelec
Prof. Dr. Teresa Dierkes was heavily surrounded at the open university day in Polish Zgorzelec. Pupils and teachers from the Zgorzelec grammar schools were happy to take the opportunity to find out about study possibilities in the region in their mother tongue. The University Information Day also took place for the first time on the Polish side of the Neisse river. The historic culture house of the city of Zgorzelec (Miejski Dom Kultury w Zgorzelcu) provided an appropriate setting for the information day of the universities in the trinational Neisse - Nisa - Nysa Euroregion. In addition to the Saxon University of Cooperative Education, which belongs to the Academic Coordination Center of the Euroregion with its location in Bautzen, the University of Applied Sciences Zittau-Görlitz as initiator and organizer, the Technical University of Liberec as the Czech representative and from the Polish city of Jelenia Góra the branch for economics and tourism of Uniwersytet ekonomiczny we Wrocławiu and the Karkonoska Państwowa Szkoła Wyższa were on site. The presence of a representative from the Lower Silesian Marshal's Office and Zgorzelec Mayor Rafał Gronicz showed, that this cross-border university information day also met with the approval of local politicians. In addition to the universities, several German-Polish initiatives and projects and industry representatives from Görlitz and Zgorzelec had found their way to the Miejski Dom Kultury.
